Standard I - Shared School Vision
Shared Involvement Process (SIP)
Artifact: SIP Minutes - May 2015
Description: The SIP committee is a building-level committee made up of administrators, parents, teachers, and administrative staff. This ensures all stakeholders are represented. I have served on Dolsen's SIP committee for 5 years. This committee embarks on discussion of building level issues and utilizes a collaborative decision-making approach. As part of the team, I was able to participate in providing feedback to the school and district on the School Improvement Plan. This plan articulates the vision of the school and district. This is a year-long committee and there are many discussions held. Accordingly, it is difficult to include a single "artifact" that captures the entire process. I have included the minutes for the day we collaborated on the School Improvement Plan.
Rationale for Inclusion and Reflection: The reason I included my involvement with the SIP committee in my portfolio is because it demonstrates my knowledge and understanding of how to collect and use data to identify school goals, to evaluate school progress toward those goals and revise as needed, and to continually promote school improvement. It also demonstrates my ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders.
