Standard III - Management for Learning
Managing Time

Artifact: Specials Schedule

Description: As a teacher-leader in my building, I work with a colleague
to create the specials schedule each August for our building as a way of developing my understanding of how to manage an organization, its operations, and its resources. I didn’t realize how complex the task is having to take into consideration traveling specials teachers, varying lunch schedules, combination classes, etc. We also worked very hard to give grade level teachers some mutual planning time. Creating the schedule felt like working a giant Sudoku puzzle!

Rationale for Inclusion and Reflection: This specials schedule demonstrates my ability to manage resources including time. I learned the importance of schedule mutual planning time as well.
